What I Do

It is my belief that as holistic beings we must address our personal wellness through an integrated approach that includes the body, the mind and the spirit.

My work focuses on all aspects of spiritual inquiry, mental health, and healthy embodiment, and the power of the mind. I offer you decades of experience, a finely-honed skill-set, a razor-sharp intuition and a deep compassionate presence so that you can address the deepest questions and most important issues that you face in your life.

As an spiritual teacher, an author, and a shamanic practitioner, my overall approach to healing is based on an ancient wisdom that is fundamental to many spiritual, psychological and indigenous traditions.

The journey that we will take to together is about learning to align with your truest nature; your fundamental essence – and to step into the powerful self and the inspired life that are your birthright.

While this work does have psychotherapeutic elements, it is also a deep transpersonal dive into spirit, soul, and energy.

We will also look at the ways in which the wounds of your past, your current belief systems, your mental habits, your core values, your self-esteem, and your relationship with your body may be keeping you from the fullest expression of yourself.

We will examine the root cause(s) of difficulties and negative patterns, and you will learn that through understanding them, you can transform them.

But this work is not about endless processing of surface symptoms or merely adjusting behavior – it is directive, active, dynamic, relational, and extremely down-to-earth. Your soul’s journey, your individual search for purpose and meaning, your highest potential, your spiritual-driven life, and your true belonging-ness on this earth all await your becoming.

Jonathan Hammond

Jonathan is a Maui-based Author, Spiritual Teacher, Energy Healer, Shamanic Practioner, and Spiritual Counselor.

He is a graduate of Harvard University and The University of Michigan.

Jonathan is a certified Master Teacher in Shamanic Reiki, Usui and Karuna Reiki. He is on the Advanced Graduate Studies Advisor for Shamanic Reiki Worldwide and an ordained Alaka’i (teacher/guide) in the Kahili Hawaiian Shamanic tradition.

Jonathan has completed four years of training in Inter-Spirituality and Inter-Spiritual Counseling at the One Spirit Learning Alliance, and he was ordained as an Interfaith Minister in 2008.

He has training and certifications in Cherokee Bodywork with The Coyote Institute, Huna (Hawaiian Shamanism) with Aloha International, and all core curriculum with the Foundation of Shamanic Studies. Jonathan has been initiated through the Minoan Fellowship in Wicca, and has trained in the therapeutic facilitation of psychedelics with Inward Bound in Ireland.

In addition to maintaining a robust private practice, Jonathan teaches classes in Shamanism, Spirituality, and Energy Healing at the Omega Institute for Holistic Studies, The Shift Network, The One Spirit Learning Alliance, Shamanic Reiki Worldwide, and Penn State University.

Internationally, Jonathan has facilitated spiritual retreats in Costa Rica, Bali, Nicaragua, Peru, and Mexico.

He has studied shamanism, meditation, energy healing and the chakras with some of the most prominent teachers and healers in North and South America; as well as apprenticeships with shamans of Brazil, Bali, Nicaragua, Mexico and Hawaii.

Before moving into his work in holistic health, Jonathan had a successful career as an award-winning actor appearing on Broadway and Television.

Jonathan is deeply committed to empowering and healing people by bringing earth-wisdom into the modern world in practical and usable ways.

His first book about contemporary shamanism and the spiritual traditions of Hawaii called The Shaman’s Mind – Huna Wisdom to Change Your Life is available where books are sold. He also has an audio course produced by Hemi-Sync entitled, The Shaman Within.

Jonathan lives on Maui, Hawaii. He is in private practice in Hawaii, and he sees online clients from North and South America, Europe, Australia and the Far East.
